War for Edadh is a game of battle. Cards represent the troops, leaders, standards, terrain and all aspects of the battle. Cards are also used in the core mechanic of the game which is a unique, tactical system. This mechanic, Conflict Resolution, places the outcome of each fight and battle in your hands - your decisions and choices alone will determine your success or failure.

Conflict Resolution simulates a fight. In a fight you pit your skill and experience against your opponent. You read his moves, try to outsmart him and make a winning attack. With Conflict Resolution you do the same. Yet it is simple to learn and play, but like all good strategy games will always offer a challenge.

War for Edadh can be played in a variety of ways and expanded rules can be added when you like to give all the depth you would expect from a battle game. Tactical gameplay where luck is minimized.

The Art of Conflict introduces Conflict Cards and Secondary Terrain Cards. Conflict Cards enable gamers to perform such actions as capturing the opponent's standard, breaking the enemy's line and attacking the opposition's champion. Secondary Terrain represent ruins, gullies, cliffs, pools and the like and gamers can manoeuvre their army onto these cards to gain an advantage over your opponent.
