The Montanara are mountain dwellers who dig deep into the heart of the earth for valuable crystals. Before they begin digging, the carefully examine the rock formations to determine where is the best place to dig. Buried in the “card mountains”, lie the desired crystals. By using their “dwarf cards”, the players dig in the card mountain for the crystals. Action cards enable the players to, for example, examine the card mountain in more detail and even rearrange it. They can also use some actions to hinder their opponents. The winner is the first player to dig up four crystals, or, if there is only one mountain left on the board, the player with the most crystals.
